Outstanding GCSE Results for St Paul’s Students
Celebrations are in full swing at St Paul’s on Spencefield Lane in Leicester!
Principal Shelley Conaghan shared her pride and joy in the students’ achievements. “Our Year 11 students are an extraordinary group of young people. Despite facing significant disruption during their secondary school journey due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they have shown resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to success. Their GCSE results are a true testament to their positive attitude, self-motivation, and ambition.
It has been a privilege to teach this year group from Year 7 through to their GCSEs, and we are immensely proud of their achievements. We are especially delighted that so many of them will be continuing their studies with us in the Sixth Form.”
This year’s results highlight some remarkable progress on the already strong outcomes of 2024.
78% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths.
79% achieved five or more GCSE passes at grade 4 or above.
For our students, these results are the foundation for their next chapter, whether they choose Sixth Form study, apprenticeships, or preparing for university and the world of work.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our students, their families, and our dedicated staff, all of whom have played a vital role in supporting Year 11 to reach this milestone.
English Martyrs’ Students Celebrate Outstanding GCSE and BTEC Results
Students at English Martyrs’ Catholic School, on Anstey Lane, Leicester were filled with joy this morning as they collected their GCSE and Level 2 BTEC results. Hot on the heels of last week’s superb A-level outcomes, this year’s results once again reflect the school’s continued success, showing further improvement on last year’s performance.
Across all subjects, 75.7% of students achieved five or more grades at 4+ including English and Maths. In addition, 76% of students secured a grade 4+ in both English and Maths, while 57% achieved the more challenging benchmark of 5+ in English and Maths.
Principal, Mathew Calen, praised the students’ achievements:
“We are extremely pleased that our students’ commitment has been rewarded with these fantastic results. This is a testament to their hard work both inside and outside the classroom. It is particularly inspiring given that this cohort faced a disrupted start to their secondary education, making their success even more impressive.”
Looking ahead, the school is excited to welcome many of its Year 11 students into Sixth Form this September, alongside new applicants from other schools, as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey.
